About Us

There are more than 22 LMLA chapters across the United States. The Northern Virginia Chapter was established in 2004 and has more than 150 members from multiple business areas and work locations throughout northern Virginia to include Springfield, Newington, Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Chantilly, Manassas, Herndon, and Reston.

The Lockheed Martin Leadership Association (LMLA) is the local presence of the National Management Association (NMA). NMA is a national professional development organization committed to managerial excellence and the professional and personal growth of its members while contributing to the effectiveness of their sponsoring organizations.

The Lockheed Martin Corporation has a close relationship with NMA and Full Spectrum Leadership is an integral part of the NMA Leadership Model. Senior management at Lockheed Martin strongly supports LMLA and passed corporate policy statement CPS-548 to communicate this across the corporation.

Our monthly programs focus on the development needs and interests of our members who range in experience from entry level college graduate to senior level program managers and VPs. Our annual membership survey feedback is used to set the goals and program calendar for the following year.

Some of our recent speakers have included Art Johnson, Sr. VP of Strategic Development (August 2007), Rich Jager, Corporate Director of Compensation (July 2007), and Annette Hurley, Professional Executive Coach (March 2007).
